The Community Development Department is the Town's chief planning and development agency. Responsibilities include economic development, downtown revitalization, environmental planning, housing, community planning and rural development. The Department strives to enhance the physical environment, improve the quality of life found in Adams and support the diversity of the Town's population.
The Department administers the Town's federal Community Development Block Grant, which funds programs of benefit to people with low and moderate incomes, primarily in the areas of infrastructure, housing and human services.
The Department also administers the Town's federal Housing Development Support Program, which funds programs to develop housing for the benefit to people with low and moderate incomes.
